How much (by weight) of a front load does the Bleriot tolerate, I mean
 before the handling gets bad?

Can anyone say offhand what the Bleriot's trail is? (I know, I can look
it up, but don't want to right now.)

I notice the saddle all the way forward on a no-setback post and the
short stem: is that how you set up all your road-type bikes? Not advising
otherwise, just curious because I use a lot of setback and a short stem.

[RBW] Need Advice on 28.6 FD for MTB triple on Atlantis

2020-10-18 Thread Andrew Nussbaum
Hi All,

I decided to convert my Atlantis from1x9 to 3x9, with a 20-32-42 triple up
front, using DT shifters. I need some advice, however, on an FD for the
conversion. I'd love something beautiful (silver), vintage (maybe Deerhead,
maybe Suntour, maybe something else), a 28.6 clamp diameter (not bolt on),
and durable. I've spent a little time perusing ebay, but thought I'd turn
to this group for advice. Let me know what you think.

[RBW] 55cm Canti Sam Clearance?

2020-08-26 Thread Andrew Nussbaum
All,

I am slowly coming to the realization that my 58cm Toyo Atlantis might be a
smidgen too large for me. So I am considering buying one of the run of Sams
that are coming this fall if they have canti posts. My hope would be to
largely swap over all of my Atlantis build to the Sam (and selling the
Atlantis frameset here). One question I have is about tire clearance. Riv
says that the 700c 55cm Sam fits
47mm tires, but I would like to squeeze in my 50mm Gravel Kings. Has anyone
had success with getting slightly larger tires onto their Sam?

Thanks,

Andrew

I've got them on my Toyo Atlantis with 50mm Gravelkings. There's not a ton of

straightforward, and the performance / modulation is great. My only issue is I
wish they had a bit more feedback at the lever.

I have a tangential question: is it accurate that then Atlantis can fit
tires up to 2.4"? The Riv website
says it fits tires up to 2.2" only.

[RBW] Saddle Position Question

2020-01-02 Thread Andrew Nussbaum
I'm in the process of dialing in the fit on my Toyo Atlantis
and am in need of the group's
advice on saddle positioning. I'm using albatross bars for a more upright
position--a choice which I've come to love. But when I sit more upright,
I'm noticing that I slide "down" on my B17 saddle. I have positioned the
saddle to be parallel to the ground, with perhaps a slight upward tilt.
I'd like my sit bones to be resting on the rear of the saddle. Should I
simply give the saddle a more upward tilt? Any thoughts are welcome.
