+5 for Swift Industries. They let you pic fabric, grosgrain, and thread color.
I'm ordering a Brompton bag from them. They make great stuff.

Also the bags made by Philosophy are excellent. I met Troy the owner of
Philosophy Bags at NAHBS and spoke to him for awhile about his bags. The bags
look and feel great, the stitching is precise, the mounting hardware is German
(making it as smart as Arkel), and they're made by him and a small staff near
Portland.

[RBW] Re: Mangini Ranch open to bikers?

2009-09-09 Thread Harry H

Another place you can check for trail access is East Bay Regional Park
district website. They maintain some of the trails in the area and
keep PDF's of the maps of the parks on their site. The link to the
maps is: http://www.ebparks.org/parks/maps Also, if you live in
Contra Costa County 511 Contra Costa will give you some excellent maps
for free. You just need to go their website and submit a request. Here
is the link http://www.511contracosta.org/bike-ped/bike-maps/ The map
request info is near the bottom of the page.

I just finished mapping out how to ride from my place in Concord over
the hills in Clayton through Black Diamond and out to Brentwood. It'll
be a good test for a new bike that I'll be getting. w00t!

some single track. I know you can  ride dirt from Walnut Creek to Mt
Diablo 100% legally. If you've never ridden out here, just be aware
that there are a lot of steep hills in the dirt, especially as you go
higher up Diablo, and be prepared to walk some.

through Mangini Ranch say No public access and the only thing I can
find on the internet is that back in 2007-2008 it was accessible only
via tour.  The only newer information I saw was that the East Bay
Trail Dogs did some trail maintenance back on May 9, 2009.

Anyone know if it is open to bikers?  I am looking to take BART to
Concord (from Oakland) and ride through Lime Ridge, then Mangini Ranch
and into the trails on Diablo.  I also noticed that these grey dashed
lines are listed as Unpaved road Private that would let me connect
this all together.  Not sure if these are now open or not.

I just did a little more research and found out on OpenStreetMap that
the trails are listed but mostly
   un-named:http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=37.91452lon=-121.97493zoom=15lay...

It seems as though as long as it is legal, I shouldn't have a problem
riding mostly dirt from Concord into Diablo.

   Discuss please.
