[RBW] Right size frame pump for 50cm Cheviot?
Hey gang, anyone know the right size HPX pump to fit a 50cm Cheviot? Thanks, -- Jeff Fry -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. [RBW] Shellac'd bar tape colors for orange Cheviot
I came close to buying Dan's very generously priced 55cm Cheviot (recently offered on this list). I test road it and enjoyed it...but since I'm in the Bay Area I decided to try riding a 50cm first and realized that's the right frame for me...so I'm buying new instead. After Vince at the shop patiently led me through my choices I'm looking at an orange Chev with Albatross bars + cork grips + a bit of shellac'd bar tape...and the one choice I'm still waffling on is tape color. Have you seen any colors you think work particularly well? (Bonus points for pics.) This pic <https://farm8.static.flickr.com/7282/15932605434_f997c0c072_b.jpg> looks pretty slick, but I'm not sure what it is (if it's Newbaums <https://www.rivbike.com/collections/handlebars-stems/products/newbaums-bar-tape?variant=23335712641> at all). Otherwise, my image is probably of a brown or a olive-y green. Grassy green with amber shellac is probably the closest I've seen to the latter. For brown...there are a ton of choices since amber shellac browns just about everything...but if you have a pic of a brown you like with the orange (and maybe the cork) or just a rec, I'm listening. Hi, is your Cheviot still for sale? I've had an Atlantis for the last 12 years and love it, but have recently realized I could use a top tube that's easier on my hips. I live in Oakland btw. Happy to come to you to check it out. Let me know! Re: [RBW] Re: Lowriders to fit Sam Hill
+1 on Bruce Gordon's racks. And Heck, while you're calling Bruce about a rack, you might as well look at his panniers. My impression is that they're very good. He also designs them specifically for his racks. If you're not planning to use his racks, that's a minus, but if you are, you get an attachment system that's optimized for your rack, rather than generalized to do pretty well on every rack. I like Ortliebs a lot. They're my ideal commuting pannier, since they're totally waterproof and can fit a lot. The downsides: 1. Since they're more of a loose bag than a stiff, shaped pannier, they move around some, esp. when not fully stuffed. 2. No pockets. How much either of those matters to you, you'll have to determine. I'm quite happy with Ortliebs, but if I were to do another long distance tour, I might consider something else...and if I did, they'd likely start with Bruce Gordon.
