[RBW] WTB: 54cm A. Homer Hilsen / Saluki

2018-01-31 Thread Michael in SF
Reaching out before I drop a deposit on an AHH. If you have either frame
(54cm) for sale or can offer a lead, lmk!

Cheers,
Michael

[RBW] Re: A. Homer Hilsen / San Marcos

2018-01-25 Thread Michael in SF
Thanks everyone for the lively fender discussion and observations on both
the AHH and San Marcos. FWIW I am running Compass Babyshoe Pass tires under
Berthoud stainless fenders on my tiburon blue 51cm San Marcos. The tires
measure an actual 40.5mm or so.

It has always been my plan to own exactly two bikes: a Hunqapillar and an
AHH (*likely with canti posts, or better yet the original canti-Saluki...*).
Got one, now making plans for the other!

[RBW] A. Homer Hilsen / San Marcos

2018-01-22 Thread Michael in SF
RBW Bunch,

2018 may be the year I put down a deposit on an A. Homer Hilsen.

Has anyone logged enough miles on both an AHH and a Soma San Marcos to
comment on how the frames compare? i.e. functional/practical overlap,
handling differences, weight, preference for one over the other given one's
usage(s), etc.

And to small/medium (~ 54 cm) AHH owners in particular: any luck fitting
650bx42 slicks under fenders with reasonable clearance?

Cheers,
Michael

[RBW] Re: Pick your paint Hunq

2017-06-08 Thread Michael in SF
Dylan, thanks for sharing yours, looks awesome (great color!). Also
relieved to see the neo retros don't interfere with the Mark's rack struts
en route to mid-fork, as I was planning on mounting mine this week.

Thanks, everyone!

[RBW] Re: Pick your paint Hunq

2017-05-31 Thread Michael in SF

I *think* I'm done with fine-tuning. It's *sooo* good! Things worth noting:

   - single-digit serial number (!); notice the built-in rear brake stop
   - the frame is slightly undersized for extra ruff stuff clearance
   - those are 2.25" smart sams - there's ample clearance at the fork and
   chainstays
   - rack(s) soon
