[RBW] Yay! My Sweater arrived today.

2020-02-24 Thread Tim D
It's very nice.
Definitely worth the wait.

[RBW] Re: Cheviot Wool Sweater Preorder - Anyone In?

2019-09-16 Thread Tim D
I'm in.
Partly because I was needing a new, "nice", sweater anyway, partly because
I already own and love a Riv sweater; the wooly pully commando sweater from
a few years back.
Pre-orders aren't a big deal to me, I'll either get the sweater or my money
back, so no concerns there. I trust Grants style sense enough to know I'm
not going to end up with something out of a sci-fi movie, or something
that's been deliberately slimmed down; which, let's be honest here, I'm
heavy enough I already look like a sausage wearing a shirt anyway.

I'm just guessing, but I suspect it will be a pretty simple pull-over
sweatshirt-style, just using the yarn and colors that Grant has spec'd. I'd
be good with that. It's a classic look.
250 is the minimum order on this, IIRC. I hope they are able to make it
happen.
If you want one, get it. You won't be disappointed.

[RBW] Re: What do Hilsen Serial numbers start with?

2018-11-20 Thread Tim D
My 65cm AHH says RIVENDELL M#
It's a 2012 frame IIRC.

[RBW] Re: PSA: sweet frame for tall person

2018-08-28 Thread Tim D
I was bidding in the $500 - $800 range, once it passed $800.00 I just
couldn't afford it.
66cm Rambos seem to be ultra-rare. I'll probably end up getting a custom
frame at this point I think.

[RBW] Re: Your favorite Rivendell?

2018-05-25 Thread Tim D
My 65cm A. Homer Hilsen. To be fair though, it's the only Riv I own so...
I'll also say my
future-purchase-someday-when-I-have-the-money-for-a-new-project 64cm (or
maybe a 66cm?) Rambouillet will become my second most favorite.

[RBW] Re: What type of bike would make you buy another riv

2018-02-03 Thread Tim D
I've been envisioning a Custom lately.
It'd basically be a Rambouillet/Roadeo with room for 700cx32 tires *with*
fenders, and AHH-style braze-ons for front and rear Mark's racks.

[RBW] Re: Grocery Run - No Trailer Test

2017-12-11 Thread Tim D
Fantastic!
That looks like a great grocery getter set up, but maybe a little heavy in
front? Maybe?

What's the brand/model of the bags in the front basket? They look like they
might work really well for me when I start commuting to work again next
year.
