If you are willing to do gravel there are many really beautiful roads to
chose from. Here are some of our routes which you can pull segments:

Tillamook via Trask River: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/8167605

Great south to north segments: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/7723753

Have fun!

Thanks. The shop (Velo Cult) does a custom program with Mark Nobilette. Though
we're one in spirit, it's my tenuous connection with Riv!

Over the holidays I finally broke the logjam of resistance and remade the

[RBW] Re: Oregon Outback

2015-06-12 Thread tim.cl...@nike.com
Really enjoyed your write-ups! You guys did it absolutely right. I had to
chuckle when you described the conversation in the Silver Lake store of the
hypothermic Lycra riders and the concern for their fate.

I was one of those dorks and, if I had to do it all over again, I'd do it just
like you did it!

In fact, last year we did the route in the summer in four-ish days and it was a
wonderful adventure. What stuck out to me was meeting all the great people in
the most unexpected places. Great people. Beautiful, big country too.

Thanks for taking the time to share, really good stuff!

[RBW] Re: Oregon Outback

2015-06-02 Thread tim.cl...@nike.com
I was one of the fendered few (riding the Nobilette). Made it to Prineville the
first night--or was it morning--at 3:30am.

With all the rain, hail and saturated roads, I was pretty cooked by that point.
I had a little more in the tank but not enough to do the 140 left in one push.
So off to Bend I rode!

In hind sight, next time I'll have camping gear which opens up the options on
this route.

Love the photos posted thus far, looks like you guys had a stellar trip!

All Best,
Tim Clark
