[RBW] Re: Clem vs Appaloosa ride comparison
I had the same curiosity and so ordered both. I found them both to be wonderful dream bikes, but in very different ways (apologies to Joe :-) The Clem says, "Let's go play! Let's ride off the curb, onto the dirt trail, then across town and explore on our way to pick up groceries. Then, maybe if you're nice, we can grab a beer at Paul's on the way home!" The Joe whispers, "First, let's do a 60 miler for a warm up. Then, we'll go to your mother's in Mississippi by way of Cleveland. Next, we'll head to the Big Apple by way of California. Those dirt & gravel roads, limestone trails, potholed highways? No Problem, I gotcha covered. I find the Clem to be fun, practical, & steady. I'm a kid on my banana seated Sting Ray again. The Appaloosa is exquisite. It's simply the most amazing, calm, inspiring capable bike I've ever ridden (yes, even including my other Rivs) but I don't feel quite as tempted to ride off the curbs and into the brush with it as my Clem, though I'm sure it would oblige me. The bike you get for the cost is an unbelievable deal in my opinion & I do a double take whenever I see a used one for sale. The ONLY fault I can find with the Joe is that a taller size isn't offered. Someday, Grant, pretty-pretty plze?? Okay, so there you have my two cents worth. Hope you're tempted to get one! [RBW] Re: Anybody have a 68 cm Quickbeam for sale??
Wow...who new there were such a demand for tall QB's?? So, how many does it take to get Grant to place a special order? I read on the site that they order in lots of 30. We're a long way from that On Jan 16, 2:22 pm, Cycletex wrote: > Not to change the subject (can't let go of my Quickbeam... ever) but > if anyone has a 68cm Rambouillet they want to get rid of I really, > really want one... > > > > > I hope this is the right place to post this, I've been away too long. > > Anyway, does anybody have one they are willing to part with?? > > Please email me at > > tresbambi...@gmail.com > > > Thanks! > > Al -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. [RBW] 68 cm Atlantis frame set for sale w/ extras--$950
Hey folks, I hope this is the proper place to post such things, please steer me in the right direction (gently, please :), if it is not the right place. I just discovered this group. Very cool. Anyway, I have a one-year-old 68 cm Atlantis for sale. I love the bike, it's one of two Rivs, but a neck injury (from unicycling... doing "stupid dog tricks") has sidelined my trail riding for a while. This bike has approx. 400 easy miles on it, and very few, if any, dings or scratches. Included are the seat post, BB cartridge, fenders, and ummm...what ever else might be useful. In all about $1700 worth, if I've done my math right. I can have pics in a few days. Also, I have a Franklin custom made 68 cm cyclo-cross frame set I'd be willing to part with for $350 (paid about $1000). If anyone has any suggestions of other websites where I can post these, please let me know. I'd greatly appreciate it.
