[RBW] CHEVIOT For Me

2017-12-08 Thread Joe Bernard
Congrats, Howard, I think you're going to love it! I was at RBW yesterday and
Vince told me the frames arrive in Oakland today. Mine is still a couple months
away 'cause I ordered custom paint (Candy Apple Red), but I saw the RBW Blue on
some Roadinis and it's really pretty. Yay Cheviots!

[RBW] CHEVIOT For Me

2017-12-08 Thread Howard Ramsay

This is the bike I plan to build from Rivendell. The step through design
will aid me when I am no longer able to comfortably ride my classic
BRIDGESTONE bikes and my Harley. My pelvis is (actually) bolted together,
and swinging my leg over the top tube will become harder as the years
progress. Quality bikes are more expensive year to year, so purchasing now
makes financial sense. I will ask for a few custom touches, have the bike
assembled, tested, then shipped to me in Longview, Texas. I like the RBW
Blue, the frame style is classic and very well made. The lugs are lovely,
the fork is fantastic, the brakes are basic, and the braze-ons are
bountiful. Accessorizing this build will include fenders, racks, lighting,
a basket, a bell, and a kickstand. I have been researching the build parts
this weekend. Rivendell has parts o'plenty to pick from, with a Chevoit -
2017 Pre-Sale, web specials, coupon codes, Rivendollars, and a LET'S HELP
CHARLIE CUNNINGHAM two for one credit from Grant Petersen. More info here:

My community is improving intersection lighting, creating bike paths along
existing walking trails, and dedicated bike lanes on new roadways. The
local bike shop has a regular group of cyclists who come together for easy
rides. Each spring they set up a training program for new riders, building
up skills and strength, promoting esprit de corps, and helping to prevent
injuries. Some guys and gals compete in local area races of different types
and competition levels. There is a large number of teens riding single
track and gravel grinding, with great support from the local communities.
Most all these people ride new style bikes, carbon and aluminium frames,
multi-suspension mountain bikes, etc. Not my style, but at least they are
riding. I am blessed to live here. ♥ More to come as the parts are
selected and the frame arrives. Howard Ramsay - Longview, TX
