Thanks, Ray. I have the original Grabsack, and I agree that the canvas is
the best I've seen. I was tempted to buy a Large, but having to retro-add a
more (wider) comfortable shoulder strap and a belly strap turned me toward
the Timbuktu -- Nordstrom's online had the Med Classic in Olive for $50,
with $8 shipping.

I gather that Timbuktu's wares are not of the original quality, but I think
they are still good -- we'll see in a few days.

In fact, if the Classic is good enough, I may sell my modified Grabsack,
with wider shoulder and new belly straps.

There's a secluded wildlife refuge and visitors' center 1 mile north of my
house, very pleasant, with the wildlife being aquatic birds, and I'd like
to take my Macbook Pro with me. (No point in looking at nature if you can
surf the web, right? Seriously, to do work there.)

  A number of years ago I bought a book bag from Duluth Pack, it has a 
padded sleeve for a laptop and the 13" MacBook fits perfectly. 
It will last a lifetime. 
It doesn't have a waist belt but they will add custom features. 

The Riv grab sack material is about the best fabric I've seen for bags and 
their large bag will definitely fit the laptop. 
Had it been available when I bought this bag I may have gone that route 
instead. 
The padded sleeve on the Duluth is a nice feature.

[RBW] ISO a courier bag that will hold a 13" Macbook Pro

Let's just say 10" X 15" ... plus a book or 2 and the usual keys,
sunglasses, and other small bits.

"Courier" bag, because I want something I can use on the bike.I also want
the design with a waist strap, not the type that cinches to your shoulder

Color: not too particular, as long as it is dull: gray, black, tan, brown,
beige, olive, taupe -- sad sack color.

Materials, ditto, as long as they are sturdy.

Offers? Or, links to good buys?

I've looked at the JUMBO Rivendell Grabsack; will that work? I have a
regular Grabsack, and that one won't.
