I'm seeking opinions and info on traditional Japanese beds. I've been sleeping
on the floor for years (on a memory foam pad sitting atop a rug). I thought of
it as an experiment and bought the cheapest memory foam I could find (basically
a bare 3" thick slab) with the intention of upgrading--or going back to regular
bed if the experiment went bust. Well, it turned so well I never replaced the
foam pad. But now I'm interested in a Japanese bed and would love to hear from
anyone here (off list, please) who has experience with such. I see that there
are variations in the bedding style and materials...and on whether it sits on
the floor or on a frame or tatami mat. I know there is plenty of info on the
net but I figure I'd shoot this out just in case there is a bob-er rbw-er who
has 2 cents to throw down.
