[RBW] Pitlock Skewer assistance

2019-02-26 Thread Edwin W
I’m so glad I’m not the only one that has these kind of “user errors” when
working on bikes.
Always learning from this list,

Edwin

Re: [RBW] Pitlock Skewer assistance

2019-02-25 Thread Joe Bernard
I had this problem with a Pinhead (pitlock-like) seat binder I recently
purchased from a listmember. It's a bunch of pieces and it took me a whole day
to figure out how to mount them. Then it didn't even fit my frame!

Sometimes, you just have to stare at it for a while before it makes sense. Glad
you figured it out!

Thanks for all the advice! It's been solved. I'm just going to call it a

Is the threaded portion the same? Perhaps you’ve reached the end of the threads
on the skewer before it gets tight?

Is the axle moving in the dropout? If it's not and the rim has play, your hub
bearings need to be adjusted.

[RBW] Pitlock Skewer assistance

2019-02-25 Thread Friend
Hi friends,
I recently got a Pitlock skewer set and after I installed it I noticed some
play/wiggle in my rear rim. When I try to tighten the skewer further the
bald/coned end just turns with it. I can't seem to get the skewer tight
enough but it seems to be the same length and my previous quick release
skewer. Any tips, thoughts, or experience that might help are welcome.
