[RBW] Re: 46cm appa clearance
Not a 46cm, but a 51cm Appa with 650b wheels. Right now I've got Marathon Supremes 50mm tires and with the SKS P55 fenders on the bike. Very little margin between the fender mounts and side walls, but I've had no rubbing or interference issues for 6 months of riding, even banging the rear fender repeatedly into back of the bike locker at work. (*crosses fingers*) I tried to mount a set of Commuter II B65s, but found that I would have to trim the fender a bit to fit it onto the fork and got lazy. (Don't recall if I would had to do that on the frame.) I used to run 42mm tires (Panaracer Gravel King) with the P55s and that had clearance for days. --Ed C. [RBW] Re: 46cm appa clearance
I have 51 Appaloosa and 42MM tires and fenders with lots of space, so, I think ca. 46mm size would fit. WTB has a 650BX47 tire. For a wider tire, Riv suggested trying wider fenders, by cutting out the fenders near the chain stay and around the front fork crown. I also have a 46 cm Appaloosa. I would very much like to add fenders but am not ready to give up my Big Ben's (52 mm). If you find a way to make it work, please post it. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. I have Schwalbe " Big Ones" on my Appaloosa, which I believe are 700x60. I'm assuming you cannot as the max tire listed for the appa is 26x55 On Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 7:01:41 AM UTC-5, Sky Coulter wrote: > > Oh, I see compass has a naches pass ~44mm -- I think that pretty much > solves my problem. Oh, I see compass has a naches pass ~44mm -- I think that pretty much solves my problem. It'd be interesting to know if it can fender a 52-54mm tire though.
