Hi John, I notice a definite difference in the ride, especially on the
rear, between latex and butyl. the large size are 95g, so weight
difference is not significant.
Regards.

Ron,

Is there much of a weight difference? Any noticeable difference in the
ride? I love my Barlow Pass tires for their light, supple ride but don't
use them for commuting for fear of puncture. I can't afford a puncture on
the ride to the train. Not sure where the fear comes from since I've had
the BPs for a year now without incident. Still, I ride Schwalbe Mondials
on 36h A719's for the commute. Sturdy but not as much fun.

[RBW] Re: Always heard this about latex tubes

2016-05-02 Thread Sofia Torres
YUP.

I've had a latex CX tube survive after my tire was punctured by the largest
thorn I've ever seen (about 1" long and very very sharp but stubby.) I did
pull it out right away because it was a noticeable bump as the wheel
turned. Tube was fine. I kept the thorn as a keepsake.
