[RBW] Re: Clementine tire size?
They should definitely fit. I don't imagine Rivendell would be shipping the bikes with tires that can't be fenderized, and you really need a minimum of 10-12mm for clearance. The Kendas at 1.75" are 48mm, and the fenders are 60mm. I could be wrong, but I imagine these bikes can take the one size 65mm SKS that Riv offers for all three wheel sizes. [RBW] Re: Clementine tire size?
I'm giggling how seriously awesome that machine looks. Those grips are neat, remind me of the ones on my old Schwinn Suburban--hope they are not doing the original plan of three different styles! I'm glad the 650B tire for the Clem comes in a bit under the 2" mark. I'm planning to try these fenders: http://ecom1.planetbike.com/7054-8.html Mark from Planet Bike posted the link on the 650B group and said they were new and were coming in November. Not sure why they put the info up beforehand, with "out of stock." At 60mm, they are rated for 1.9" tires, which puts them right at 48mm, which means if you want to get fancy the Compass Switchbacks will fit, too. I have the old style 26" 65mm SKS from Riv, but they are kinda misshapen at this point, and I have another project for them in any case. I worry that the newer 65mm model, designed for "29er" wheels, might create a problematic fender line (also would have to paint them black). I'm not generally fussy, but a handsome work horse like this deserves to have a good-looking fender. It would be nice if they were also 65mm, but oh well. Anybody else got fenders picked out? Are most going with the new 65mm SKS from Riv? I don't know that there are many options at that width, especially if you are looking for 650B-specific radius (which the SKS are not). [RBW] Re: Clementine tire size?
The small Clementine that my wife has came with 26x2.1 Kendra tires. My medium Clem came with 650B x 1.75 Kendra tires On Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 8:23:26 PM UTC-7, Reid wrote: > > OK, I see that the max tire size on the chart is 60. [RBW] Re: Clementine tire size?
The first delivered production Clem has been posted and it appears to be a 52" with 44mm tires (Kenda Kwick Seven-5). [RBW] Re: Clementine tire size?
Well I will at least attempt to put 2.35 Big Apples (700c) on my 59cm Clementine with 65mm VO fenders; otherwise I guess I'll have to forego the fenders or go with 2.0 inch tires. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. I think that the Larger size Clementine on the blug post from a couple of weeks ago has a Kenda "kwick nine" which is 29x2.0. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. [RBW] Re: Clementine tire size?
The smallest bike, as shown in a recent Blog post and which I assume is a production bike, has a Kenda Kranium which only comes in a 2.10" size (listed as 54-556). The larger Clems must have a different tire because the only other Kranium size is 20".
