[RBW] Re: Compass Snoqualmie Pass 700x44

2016-12-14 Thread BSWP
I think they would. I have Soma C-Lines on my QuickBeam, and they're fine,
plenty clearance, a true 38mm. I had tried BG Rock-n-Roads, and they just
barely fit, at 43mm. Given the Snoqualmies are showing as 42mm, you could
fit them, but with almost no margin for rim wobble.

Might be snug but I imagine you could do it with fenders. Easily without
fenders.

Will these fit on a Quickbeam? I'm still using the stock rims (green, 2004). I
put a set of the 38 Compass tires on this summer and love them but would like a
bit more width if possible. I didn't see these when I got mine.

We'll see. Mine are measuring at 42.1mm wide, on Velocity Dyad 700c rims.
On the same rims, my Soma C-lines are dead-on 38mm. I'm not complaining,
just reporting.

2016-09-17 Thread Rod Holland
I mounted a pair of Snoqualmie Pass Extralights with Schwalbe SV-18 tubes
on Alex Adventurer rims (17.5mm internal width), and they measured 40.49mm
for the time being; we'll see how much they stretch after a few months of
use.

Given a published rim height of 18mm, the aspect height of these tires as
mounted is 38.65mm or thereabouts. They're tall boys, but they fit under SKS
Longboard fenders on my LHT.

Could someone please measure the aspect height of the tire ? The easiest
way I found is to look up your rim height from the mfr. and then with some
calipers measure both the rim and tire as one, as if you were going to
measure it between your thumb and index finger. Subtract that from the rim
height.

Thank Yuh !

Agreed - these are rather silly on a Hunq - not least of all because they
are measuring under spec.
