[RBW] Re: Definishing the Hunq

2018-07-05 Thread Coal Bee Rye Anne
Oh, yes, of course! Thank you for reminding me I still have an almost full
can of butcher's wax around the garage somewhere... this may be my solution
for an unfinished steel fork and stem I have that I've considered either
rattle canning or leaving raw. It's a low priority project right now but
they've remained completely untouched so if/when I get around to a build to
use them together I may just wax and buff 'em.

I'm in agreement with everybody that the raw finish looks most excellent, but
man do I love that old grey-and-kidney-bean paint. I'd snap up a 48 or 51cm
Hunqapillar in that color in a hot second if I could find one.

Looks amazing.

Out of curiosity, why not use a butcher's wax? It's what we use for million
dollar outdoor sculptures, fountains, various metal things taking a
beating, and it doesn't flake or crack.

The close up photos are nice but a photo of the whole bike would be good,

That looks great. I love it! I misinterpeted patrick's comment, and thought
you'd put d__k brakes on, and was glad to see you hadn't.

Looks very sharp! Nice job.

I had a raw Bombadil, which I really liked. The finish deteriorated over
about 8 years. I was tempted to have the clear coat redone, but when the
frame needed repairing I went ahead and had it painted by D I'm supposed
to get it back this week.
