[RBW] Re: Didn't see that coming... Segmented Cast Fork Crown on BLUG
I am liking the looks of this segmented look fork crown. This reminds me of when Rivendell first started and was offering the Road, Allrounder and Mountain that were all built by Waterford with numerous options. Riv initially was supposed to offer purposely, proprietary lugset for the Rivendell Mountain with a fork crown design from Mar Mueller. There was not enough demand for the Mountain that they ended up using the Allrounder lugset to build the Mountain. I was always curious what the Mountain lugs and fork crown looked like. Re: [RBW] Re: Didn't see that coming... Segmented Cast Fork Crown on BLUG
What is the minor flaw that will send the crown back for redesign? To my eyes, it's the minimal material between the two louvres, at the point where they just barely overlap. In-line vertically when viewed from the front, and also in-line with the threaded hole at the top. A larger web of metal in that area will make for a stronger grasp of the fork in the crown. Just my opinion, and I bet I'm wrong, it's probably something else really really subtle. - Andrew, Berkeley -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. That's what I've been thinking. Imagine a Clem-ish tandem. Something that is as fun and smile-making and laid back and country-ish as a Clem, but as nice and stout as functional as a Rivendell, but is a tandem. That bike flat-out does not exist and never has existed. Ever. That's what I'm hoping for. On Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 3:26:56 PM UTC-7, David Banzer wrote: Tandem? Dan FYI. I wear a 7-3/4 fitted baseball cap. I usually run a Riv cycling cap under a helmet and the latest RBW caps from Pace are close to being too big. So maybe your Crenshaw Melon can fit in there? On Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 4:23:29 PM UTC-7, Dan wrote: that is a really cool crown. The crown is sweet, and I'm diggin' the brown-with-green on the ShopSack. I just ordered the same color in a Bar Tube... http://www.rivbike.com/product-p/bavbt-db.htm ...for my black-with-huge-white-letters Bike Friday. Somewhere on the Blug it was said that this should work well with the new black-with-white Sams, and I agree. Of course this screws up my plan for perfect color coordination with the black-with-white-straps Carradice I just bought, but what am I, a freakin' *bag matcher?? * On Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 10:33:03 PM UTC-7, Bill Lindsay wrote: I really like that brownish bullmoose handlebar, in the photo with the brownish shopsack On Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 7:03:42 PM UTC-7, drew wrote: guess ill start saving upagain -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group.
