Re: [RBW] Re: Dyno Rack Light with no rear rack?
I have Spanninga pixeo taillights mounted onto the plastic fenders on two bikes (planet bike and SKS). They're great taillights: bright, super lightweight, and mount easily even on plastic fenders. And they're quite inexpensive. Pixeos rule. I have one that I had originally mounted on a plastic fender (it's now on alloy). They're light, they're bright, they're cheap. Perfect! Do you have fenders on your bike? I've used fender mounted rear dynolights on my bike, so I don't have to worry about using a rear rack. -Shawn On Tuesday, December 16, 2014 9:44:33 AM UTC-8, DS wrote: Anyone have a hack to attach a Dyno rear rack light to a fender, seatpost, or rack brazeons without using the rear rack? Re: [RBW] Re: Dyno Rack Light with no rear rack?
If it were me, and I wasn't a saddlebag user, I'd probably fabricate a mount that bolted either to the upper rack braze-ons (if present) or to the seatpost binder bolt (this latter would be an L-shaped bracket). If, on the other hand, you have fenders, I would install a Pixeo. I do not think there is a taillight with more bang for the buck. [RBW] Re: Dyno Rack Light with no rear rack?
DS, Here are a two images of my hack. Different rear light, however it will work with the Riv rear light your talking about. Also I mounted it at a lower point on the Seat Stays due to the saddle bag but I could have mounted it higher. I purchased flat aluminum bar stock for $6 at my local Hardware store and used a bench vise to bend into the L bracket you see in the pictures. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-Lww5xfe7QsY/VJCZX5hMeFI/BMA/aXZVE-1vEiA/s1600/DSC06210.JPG https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-xSFQsVGwD7I/VJCZccWm86I/BMI/n9vZtn7KJVQ/s1600/DSC06211.JPG Have fun. ~Hugh Los Angeles, CA On Tuesday, December 16, 2014 9:44:33 AM UTC-8, DS wrote: Anyone have a hack to attach a Dyno rear rack light to a fender, seatpost, or rack brazeons without using the rear rack?
