Funny. Back in the 1980s I got a well used lugged frame, rattle can sprayed it blue and thought, a yellow highlight would look good. What'd you know!? The sticker off the Chiquita banana I was eating was perfect. I bet the ultra fine steel wool will do the trick :) It's like $3 or something from a Wally World ... lol . It also comes in handy to remove surface rust from any steel , be it the frame, bolts, you name it. I tried Nev-R-Dull and CLR polish. I also just tried the wet aluminum foil trick. I really don't see any difference. John, good point and something I'd considered. I was planning to A. Try it first on the part of th bar covered by the grips to test the results, and B. If acceptable, apply to whole bar uniformly. Perry, Good luck with this and please let us know how it comes out. If it's grade , the finest of the fine, it may help. If you have some try it, it certainly won't scratch them .
