Funny. Back in the 1980s I got a well used lugged frame, rattle can sprayed it
blue and thought, a yellow highlight would look good. What'd you know!? The
sticker off the Chiquita banana I was eating was perfect. So I stuck it to the
downtube and instant decal. :)

sticker off a piece of fruit, like a banana for example, stick it to the

2013-10-23 Thread Garth

I bet the ultra fine steel wool will do the trick :) It's like $3 or
something from a Wally World ... lol . It also comes in handy to
remove surface rust from any steel , be it the frame, bolts, you name it.

John, good point and something I'd considered. I was planning to A. Try it
first on the part of th bar covered by the grips to test the results, and B. If
acceptable, apply to whole bar uniformly. I'll get back to you after I've had a
chance to try it.

Perry,

Good luck with this and please let us know how it comes out. My concern
would be that no matter how successful what you do is in the scuffed area,
that part will then look at least a little different than the rest of the
bar where no treatment was applied.
