Re: [RBW] Re: Little Big Ben first impressions
Decided to quickly measure my Baby Bens. They seem to be sitting between 36 and 37mm on Salsa Delgado rims. Our weather has been cool and it has been only five days. Do expect that in another few weeks they will relax out to 38 or so. Have noticed that so far, these tires are more U shaped on the Salsa rims. Rather than a full, round C shape that the Racers were. Still like the tires. They increase my confidence in riding the loose junk at the side of the road, aka spring road conditions in Minnesota. To note, I recently switched to the lil' ben's from a set of 700x45 Resist Nomads, that measured in around 42mm on the same rims. The lil' ben's are nice, though I only have about 50 miles on them so I can't give a full review yet, but man, I have to say, those Resist Nomad's have got to be the best bang for the buck tire I've ridden in a long time. Sure the extra volume helps, so it's not fair to compare the two tires to each other, but it has me wishing there was a size between the big ben and lil' ben so I could fit them with fenders on most any of my rides. I'm going to give the lil' ben's a fair chance for sure, but I miss the plush ride the Nomads gave. -Jeff On Sun, Apr 7, 2013 at 2:37 PM, Rusty Click click...@gmail.com wrote: Hello Eric, I'm also looking at putting the Lil Ben's on my Hillborne. Hello Eric, I'm also looking at putting the Lil Ben's on my Hillborne. Do they come close to the advertised 700X38? I know the Schwalbe Greenguards I'm running are closer to 35's.
