different supplex/taslan and see what looks/feels right. Will report back.

2018-01-10 Thread R Shannon
Seconding Joe’s recommendation on the Devold merino shorts Riv sells. Yes,
they’re pricey but they are super comfortable.

I use them exclusively for travel since they can be worn multiple times before
washing (Kookaburra wool wash is great). They also dry quickly.

Try a pair or two. Boosting Riv’s January sales:-)

#1 for wool underwear and unpadded MUSA shorts. I wasted 20 years trying to get

I've got two shorts, one knickers, and one pants. I like the latest design

The knickers are my favorite for cooler weather. (Too warm for 50F+, as

Durability of all are great. I play on the ground with my kids without a

[RBW] Re: MUSA Shorts

2014-07-27 Thread Johan Larsson
Been using my knickers for two seasons now, and I like them a lot.
Comfortable, airy, seem durable, and a good length.

The seams at both back pockets came out in the corners after a month or
two, I sew it back, just a few centimeters of seam, and nothing more
happened since then. When I got them I was surprised that they didn't have
side pockets on the thigh area, I just saw it as a natural thing that all
practical pants have pockets there, but no... And that's a drawback with
them, it's quite annoying even having a set of keys in the front or back
pockets while riding a bike. Having a phone or a wallet there is
impossible. Still like them a lot, as I said...

2014-07-25 Thread DS
I almost always buy 32" waist pants/jeans. I got the medium which I was
able to try on in the shop. Waist-wise the mediums fit great for 32". Nice
thing about these shorts is the buckle/fasteners for adjustments. Length
wise, they're a little short for my taste. I may even try a large out due
to that. I think they're also on the thin side. Good for warm/hot weather.
But too thin for anything chillier (I have another pair of shorts that I
will wear all the way down to freezing). Maybe I'm not working hard enough
to raise the core temp ;)

[RBW] Re: MUSA Shorts

2014-07-25 Thread Gary
I'm 6' with a 32" waist. I've got both small and medium MUSA shorts, and
the mediums definitely fit better for me. The smalls are just a little too
short in the inseam and fit a bit tighter than I like. But they are
definitely great shorts.

I have a couple of pairs of these, size large, that I've had for years. As
much as I hate the style, they are absolutely my favorite shorts for
touring in. They're comfortable in the heat, dry quickly and are durable.
I've worn them for multiple rides of 120 miles with no issues (combined
with ExOfficio underwear and a Brooks B17). To me they seem to run a bit
big. They are also comfortable for hiking.

[RBW] Re: MUSA Shorts

2014-07-25 Thread Shoji Takahashi
Hi Mike,
I'm a 30, and I think the smalls are fine for me (but on the waist it's on
the tighter side of fit).

I like them, but the pockets ride out of the bottom at times when I ride.
Not the end of the world, but I don't have this problem with other shorts.

I think the knickers are my favorite. (I have them all.)

we were heading north on Alamo so I told my buddy to turn into Alamo Plaza
for a quick photo op. Maiden voyage of my Moser build. But agree, cotton
swells when its wet and becomes a heavy mop. Light wool wicks it out and
continues to breathe.

I ain't sayin' they're purdy

But they're highly recommended. MUSA shorts and merino wool tees are the
way to beat the Texas heat.

[RBW] Re: MUSA Shorts/Pants Sizing question

2010-01-24 Thread Angus
Matt,

I am long of leg and short of waist. For longs I ordered by leg
length and sinched the waiste to fit, works well for me. The shorts
I orderd by waist. The tan colors did stain a bit from the Brooks
saddle, the grays have not.
