The pictures of the complete Hillborne look great. I think Grant did
really really well with this one. I wonder what color green it'll be.
British racing green would be cool.

I purchased a complete Rambouillet in 2007, an AHH in 2008, and
already I'm scheming to pick up one of these in 2009. I'm out of
control. It would certainly round out my bike collection and I pretty
much have all the parts for it except wheels lying around since I
converted my Surly CC to a singlespeed with Albatross bars. We'll see
what happens.

Beauty!

A photo of a built-up Bombadil had snuck in there last night after I posted,
and it's great to see the RBW "Expanded" Frame design all built up.

Mine does not. It's a Toyo-made, from the first batch.

The seatstay bridge only has a horizontal hole for mounting the brake. The
chainstay bridge fender contact point is the lip of the quickstand plate
(er, "kickstand", actually, but now that I typed it, I really like the
phrase "quickstand"...) which has a hole, but it is not threaded. There is
no special hole in the fork crown other than the brake mount hole.

In my haste to rig up a set of SKS's last winter, I just removed the Silver
brakes and used the stock hardware. This year, when it morphs out of C.
Xavier Hisen mode, I'm probably going to get a set of Sheldon Nuts to
simplify the mount process. On the chainstay plate, I just used a round head
bolt and a nylon lock nut. Didn't budge.

Remember, the Hilsen is set up for center mounted brakes, while the
Hillborne is rigged for canti's.

Also, for the crown, I think the daruma-style crown bolt is the only way to
seat a fender without using the bracket.

Aren't the mounts behind the fork for a rack, like a big Nitto front
rack? That's all I can think they are for. The threaded fender mount
on the back is great. I don't think my AHH has it.

Yesterday I got the Nitto Albatross bars I ordered for my Surly. It's
totally snowing here in Portland, which isn't entirely odd but not
entirely normal either, so I'm working on the Surly. Who knows, maybe
I'll get to noodle around in the snow today.
