Would love to see some pictures of these Roscoe step-thrus. I hemmed and
hawed and worried about the bars being too high, and when I was ready to
pull the trigger, they were all gone.

I was tempted by those, but I already have a Clementine & I just bought a red
Rosco. So. . . . .
If I got one I'd hafta sell the Clementine, which is not a big deal, but I'd
take a pounding on the price to get something else that's too similar. And
ultimately the timing was right for me.

It will be different, but not that different. And if the BF does everything
you need it to (and why couldn't/shouldn't it) you don't really need a
Bosco Rubbe mountain mixte. But if you love bicycles, it's hard not to
pine after some of these cool new models. I have a Clementine and a
Riv-ified Schwinn mixte and man, Will's rig looks dashing. Even Grant, who

steal a trademarked RBW exclamation, Leah collecting all the Riv

Different enough that it would be worth considering.
It's able to take fatter tires, likely to draw less attention and begs to be a

I'll have to experiment with that. Maybe you ingenious guys can suggest

[RBW] Re: Only three more mountain mixtes remain....

2017-02-10 Thread Philip Kim
Ray, good question. I was more referring to seatpost and chainstay lengths
as being too big. Still workable, but wanted something slightly smaller in
terms of ST & CS, as well as tire clearance, brakes added to the equation
of trying to resize to a 55cm. A 55cm would mean my saddle would have to be
pretty close to the seat tube. With the "MTN MXTE" i can have a "fistful of
seatpost", slightly smaller chainstays, and slightly lower handlebar
positioning, especially with the rise of the bosco bullmoose bars.

I was great on the 50cm with albatross bars with a 57.5 top tube, i believe
a 100mm or 110mm stem. The MTN MXTE is tad longer in the top tube, but the
bosco handlebars also sweep back further than the albatross.

FWIW, I rode a 51cm Sam, 50cm chev, 48cm Hunqapillar, all sold. and test
rode the 51cm Appaloosa (which fit great).

mine will be in monday!

my 50cm chev was great, but always wanted more tire clearances (and
cantis/v brakes), and found lifting the bike up the stairs was too awkward.
Also wished it was slightly bigger - I was a bit too big for 50cm, but 55
was a bit too big.

Got a Hunq. Loved it, but saw this came out. It had everything I was
looking for except lugs and vertical drop outs - long chainstays but not
appaloosa long, v-brakes, tire clearance, sage green color (my favorite of
theirs so far), 650b and the lift tube! Mine will be set up cliffhangers
tubeless, to Switchback Hills and maybe some other off-road tire, bosco
bullmoose, and all the goodies.
