[RBW] Re: Shimano Bar End Shifter Install Question
Can confirm with last two. Those ridges are in friction mode. The bumps are ridges within the shifting mechanism which help keep the shift lever in place while in friction mode. [RBW] Re: Shimano Bar End Shifter Install Question
I ran Shimano bar-ends for a while before switching to Silvers. The little bumps/ridges you describe are to be expected and nothing to worry about, in my experience. That's just how those shifters feel. On Friday, April 24, 2015 at 8:41:56 AM UTC-5, RDS wrote: > > First time installing these bar end shifters. Novice bike mechanic at my > best. [RBW] Re: Shimano Bar End Shifter Install Question
There will be friction otherwise the cable tension will move your lever.Sounds like you are doing everything correctly so far. After installing your cable and have adjusted the tension make sure your lever doesn't move on its own.Make sure the hex screw is lose enough to allow comfortable shifting and tight enough to keep it from moving on it's own. Hope that helps. On Friday, April 24, 2015 at 7:41:56 AM UTC-6, RDS wrote: > First time installing these bar end shifters. Novice bike mechanic at my > best.
