Looks like your a canti-man, nothing wrong with that!

Thanks for sharing, great looking bikes and I always get a kick out of how
the dog gets itself into the picture.

[RBW] Re: Three Rivbikes on a patio, enjoying the early springtime weather

2020-03-10 Thread Jason Fuller
Cheers all! The Sam is my fancy bike while the Clem is quite a budget
build - almost everything was transferred over from my modestly upgraded
vintage mtb commuter. I would prefer to trade in the XO-1 for a
knobby-tire Appaloosa build, but since that would be 4+ times the price I
could fetch for the XO, that's not going to happen anytime too soon :D

They are the Compass / Rene Herse cranks and rings - they are beautiful,
light weight, and available in any size you could want. On the other hand
they are considerably more expensive than comparable stuff, and also with
the very narrow Q factor I do hit my heels on the crank arm occasionally
(on flat pedals of course) if wearing chunkier shoes/boots.

These are all so, so nice! Are those the SunXCD rings on the Sam? How are
they?

2020-03-09 Thread S
As Ed wrote, thanks for sharing. I don't see it as vain. In fact, looking
at other people's bikes is my favorite part of this forum. I like all three
of those bikes, but SH is my favorite.

Good looking trio of rides. Something old, something new. Fun and practical.
You’ve got all your bases covered!

Best,

I really appreciate you saying so Ed, I was feeling a bit self-conscious
about the vanity photos - not meant to show off as much as share my
excitement :)

Joe, yes it's a pretty fun bike beyond the collector factor, though the Sam
does everything it does 90% as well, plus does so much more than the XO can
too. But, as you say, it's a neat point in history and therefore I'll have
a hard time letting go of it!

Just wanted to thank you for sharing, and taking the time to create
attachments. I do enjoy the surprises I find when zooming in on pictures
from the group - all the small touches people do with their bikes which
them unique and personal.

They're all cool. The XO-1 is "piece of history, excellent color" cool, plus it
uses spindly tubes Grant wouldn't dare put on a production frame now.

Those are great builds! Interesting part choices. SH is my favorite,
although that's probably because I want one . . . .
