This list has been a shinning light of my life. Meeting so many new people from so many different parts of the world. Sharing a connection of a great bike company and great ethos its great to have a connection with folks with Rivendell because you always know you'll meet great people.
Thanks to everyone who gave suggestions and a very special thanks to Takashi for taking the time to travel 4 hours come to Toyko to meet us! Not only did he recommend the Hatagaya Blue Lug store and the Lug Cafe he also sent the lovely folks at Blug Lug an email that we were coming. Having the time to hang out with Takashi for a short while was a huge highlight of the trip so far. We shared stories of our experiences with Rivendell and our connection to amazing quality and functional goods made us gravitated towards Rivendell which is a common theme when I meet most people connected with Rivendell. The folks at Blug Lug were gracious and helpful at both locations. I was telling Takashi Blue Lug reminds me of Rivendell with more dangles and slight touches that make it their own. When we first got there we met Felipe who recognized me because of my Lucky Duck Cafe Shirt and mutual friends from Oakland and his Clint from Velo Orange who were outside of blue lug trying to put their bikes together. We ended up seeing each other at the Lug Cafe and having a coffee and sharing our stories with Takashi. We went back the the shop and was helped by Chuyan who I found out hanged out and stayed with Will and Roman! He was super helpful and made Ashley and I so welcome. This being my wife first international trip I was explaining to her that traveling anywhere and opening yourself up to people around you can yield experiences and friendships that can last a lifetime!
