Once I see how these (and a couple more pair) wear through the winter and spring, I may go for a pair of lighter weight wool for summer. The increased breathing is fantastic, but tweet is warmer when still or no breeze. Patrick, the above post addresses all your questions (I think?). Order process was easy. My fretting made it harder than it needed to be. Yeah, Bill. The tweed tandem caught my eye too. Spencer’s only does trousers and vests, so I’m not sure how they did the jackets. Rich, no kidding! This is very interesting. I've been pursuing the perfect cycling pants for a while now, and while I've found the perfect (at least, 98.642% perfect) shorts in the Rapha Randonee short or whatever it is called, I've still not found the ideal cool weather pants. 1. How involved and convenient is the fitting and ordering process? 2. Are yours long enough in the leg to be cinched tight under the knee and still give enough room for squatting? 3. How abrasion resistant and generally sturdy is the fabric? For example, if you fall over slowly a couple of times, or slide it aggressively through brush, is it likely to remain undamaged? 4. How long from initial order to delivery? 5. Can you post a photo of you wearing yours cinched under the knee? (You can omit you from belt up if you like, tho' you do have a winsome face.) Thanks. I’ll get around to doing a medium term review with photos etc on my blog, but wanted to give initial impressions of my newly arrived bespoke amazing tweed adventure cycling breeks by Spencer’s Trousers of Yorkshire (not to be confused with England. Grin.). Wow! Without the least bit of hyperbole, these are the best fitting pants/shorts/breeks I’ve ever put on. They look sharp just standing, have plenty of room to freely move, squat, kneel, ride, et al, all while fitting my waist so not belt is required (but they put on wider than usual 1.5” loops for my belt/knife). My wife, though she knows the cost ($200, tweed bespoke w/ shipping), immediately said “We need to get you more of those!” Yeah, I need all the help I can get, and these help. Evidently a lot. Grin. I just rode an initial ride in 80˚F and these breathed beautifully and didn’t feel too warm even on a climb with direct sun, moving slowly and no breeze.
