I'm pretty sure that those nuts are unobtanium. They aren't really necessary for the shifter to work properly, however. I had a set on a bike for years with a missing nut and never had any issues with slipping. You just have to be more vigilant about checking the tightness of the bolt occasionally. You might be able to make a slot in a hardware store nut with a Dremel or a file if you really want the lock nut. Be really careful to make sure the thread pitch is right, though. I don't have one in front of me right now, but I think those have a really fine pitch. Cheers- Mike in sunny So. Blue Loctite can substitute -- worked for me. And, a hardware store hex nut and a thin-walled socket can also work.
