2018-09-04 Thread Justin, Oakland
How about any experiences with the Terrene Elwood or Donnelly (nee Clement)
Strada USH?

[RBW] Widest tire for a Saluki

2018-09-04 Thread DB
I’ve been using the byways on my Saluki and prefer them to the SBH ELs for
dirt. They have a little more grip in the dirt
and the knobs aren’t that noticeable on pavement.

My question is then: SBHills or WTB Byways or Strada USH for around town/fire
road/gravel. I have a dedicated Roadie with BSPs and a MTB.

Moments like this are amazing. Thanks Frank! The Saluki is still my number 1
bike but may be ready for a repaint!

[RBW] Widest tire for a Saluki

 Justin,
I sold you that Saluki and I used to run the Schwalbe”fatties” that Riv used
to sell. I think they were labeled 52 wide but measured about 47. That was
about the limit on that frame. It is the later model with the kickstand plate
which has more clearance than the first run Salukis. I have a first run 60cm
and it will handle the Cazaderos but not the “fatties”. The Switchback Hill
will fit your frame.

[RBW] Widest tire for a Saluki

2018-09-03 Thread Tony DeFilippo
I've seen pictures of Pudge's Saluki with SBH's no fenders though the
clearances were slim.

I've never had larger than a 42 on mine. Whenever I get off my tandem or my
wife's Clementine I think how is like a Saluki exactly as it is but fitting
Schwable Big one tires and fenders... Guess that's a different bike though! :)

I ran Hetres (with fenders) on my saluki, and that seemed like an ideal
size for that bike.

I’m not above getting someone to dimple my stays so if there’s a tire that came
close but no cigar let me know.

No fenders. No masters.
