The "long reach" brakes you mentioned are the same "mid-reach" brakes I am
interested in. When I say long-reach, I assume something like the venerable
Tektro R559. I'm waiting on an update on some R650s but the NIB brakes you
have are appealing.

Ryan, as for brake levers that others have mentioned, for now I am planning
to run this bike with some leftover STI brifters from my travel bike. I do
have a spare set of TRP RRL-SL-whatevers (along with some downtube
shifters) that I'm sure will innevitably end up on this upcoming build at
some point! All that to say, I'm still just looking for some brakes :)

Cheers,
Collin

Re: [RBW] Re: WTB: VO Grand Cru Mid-Reach Brakes.

2023-08-17 Thread Ryan
My bad...those levers look like they're sold out. On the Riv site, the
silver ones with black hoods for $70 appear to be sold out as well...but
may be available second-hand on eBay or elsewhere.

I will say this; I found this combo vastly superior to the venerable and
venerated Campy SR brakes and levers I originally had on my Rivendell Road.
Not a cheap upgrade but well worth it.

I know VO sometimes has sitewide sales and all, but I wasn't going to
 wait around myself.

And paired with TRP levers a great combination...TRP levers come in black
as well at 64.99 if it's black Grand Cru you're after

 Heyo,

I ended up ordering the upcoming VO rando to satisfy a roadie itch and
now slowly gathering the associated parts for it. I contemplated the
 recent
run of the Roadinis, but the seatpost diam and longer brake reach wasn't
 to
my liking for the kind of build I was envisioning.

Anyone holding a pair? Or equivalent options from shimano (BR-650) or
TRP (RG957)? Black would be nice...

Also, if anyone has a decent 100/130 rim brake wheelset that is
 gathering dust, let me know!

 Cheers,
