[TANKS] Re: 2 Sets of EV Warrior Motors for Sale
Hi Derek I will take the first set of motors, Im in Canada but will pay the extra shipping. With Paypall if you take it or will send a check. Thank you Greg. Date: Fri, 18 Sep 2009 22:08:05 -0500 Subject: [TANKS] 2 Sets of EV Warrior Motors for Sale From: tan...@gmail.com To: rctankcombat@googlegroups.com Hey guys/gals, In lew of the huge yard sale we're having this weekend I have decided to let my EV Warriors go. Both sets have been mounted and tested, but not used other than that. The top set comes with the motors, two CNC aluminum clamp type mounts, and two 5/16" Trantorque keyless bushings to mount a 3/4" bore sprocket or pulley to them. They are close enough to the 8mm shaft of the EV and work great. The Trantorque bushings go from about $15/piece to over $30/piece depending on size and they are brand new (got them off Ebay that way, but for less than retail of course). Both motors are biased for CCW rotation. Don't remember if I have opened this set to remove the ground bar connection to the case. The bottom set of motors come with two motors, two 5/16" Trantorque bushings, two 3/4" bore 35 pitch 11 tooth sprockets, the original EV mounting bracket, and the EV snap in wire/connector set. One motor is biased for CW rotation and the other is biased for CCW rotation as printed on the motor case. This pair has been opened up an had the ground bar separated from the case to allow for reversing. Asking $70 per set shipping included to the continental United States. [TANKS] Re: 2 Sets of EV Warrior Motors for Sale
Hey guys, Looks like Martin responded first (off the list), Clark second and Greg third. I Emailed Martin last night to see which set he wanted, but he hasn't responded yet. I don't think he had a preference, but I'd like to make sure before sending them out. Clark, I do take Paypal and it's under derekengelha...@rocketmail.com. I guess I would hold off payment until Martin decides which set he wants. I'm shipping a bunch of stuff out on Monday so I could get them shipped then. [TANKS] T063; KV - 1; Suspension Arms??
Hi Chris, I've been thinking of building a suspension system for my next tank project. I'am considering the KV - 1, Tiger l, Tiger ll, or King Tiger. I've been looking at your swing arm suspension...I like the apparent simplicity...great photo by the way! I was thinking I'd like to borrow your idea or adapt it. However, I can't quite make out how the bolts are attached to the steel tubing? Do you have other photos that show how the swinig arms are constructed or could you describe how you've done it? I was planning to use attachment chain, the same as you've done. I'am curious though about your comment, "you'd like to shed some weight". It got me thinking maybe I should reconsider using the attachment chain. If you or anyone else could help out with any comments, suggestions or thoughts on building an attachment track suspension system it would be greatly appreciated. [TANKS] Re: T063; KV - 1; Suspension Arms??
Grant, I think Chris wants to shed some weight due to the batteries. Those 4 batteries are probably close to 45lbs. alone. [TANKS] Re: T063; KV - 1; Suspension Arms??
Hi Grant, The suspension arms are made of 3 pieces, 2 lengths of 1/2" round bar, and 1 piece of 3/4" square tube I just drill a 1/2" hole through each end of the square tube and then weld the 1/2" axels in. Makes for a very robust arm. Then I drill and tap a hole through one of the axels for a 1/4" "eye bolt" and simply screw the eye bolt straight through. Makes sence in my head I'll get a better pic if you want? The attachement chain was far to heavy, and not wanting to sacrifice run time (ie batteries) I chose to rebuild the tracks lighter (TTS) By doing this I saved about 10kgs in chain and sprockets. The batteries weigh 4.2KG each or, 36lbs total. Chris. b On Sep 20, 2:44 pm, Derek Engelhaupt wrote: > Grant, > > I think Chris wants to shed some weight due to the batteries.
