Also, Chrys from Greece made a BT. I'm sort of stalled in the middle of a
BT-7. If you need any pics or info, I'm your guy.

And. the Polish tank was a 10-TP, I had it turned around.

Its called the BT-7, and yes the early versions could run on roads with the
tracks removed, but the design was switched to only allow tracked travel due
to the trackless design being impractical.

{Disarmed} RE: [TANKS] T-34 origins

2011-03-30 Thread Paul Hilton
Yep, BT-7. Basic design by J. Walter Christie. By all accounts Mr.
Christie was rather difficult to deal with. He had several run ins with the
war department. His designs were also influential in the development of the
British "cruiser" tanks such as the Comet and Cromwell as well as the Polish
TP-10. As far as I've been able to find out, there is a single example of a
Christie M-1928 or T-3 Combat Car at Aberdeen Proving Ground.

RE: [TANKS] explain this battery to me please....

2011-03-30 Thread R Bottomley
just wondering if someone can explain to me why this battery cost so much? I
looked it over and thought maybe it was a LifePo4 (or what ever you may call
them) and it just wasn't listed in the main line of the listing

It says right there on that page "Lead-Acid Battery" and that price is for
two batteries, not one.

[TANKS] Re: Lipo 12V 10Ah

2011-03-30 Thread Chris. b
Battery management system, it basically balances and monitors the
cells.

No battery likes being taken past 90% DOD or depth of discharge. That
said its not imposible to do so and I have done it myself.

Lipos (good ones anyway) are rated at 2000 cycles at 80% DOD. 3000
cycles at 70% DOD

The point with lipos is to never let them get under 80% or you will
kill them. Keeping in mind that lipos have a much better voltage
curve, at 80% they will still be putting out near full voltage. As
with leads the voltage sags dramatically as you draw current from
them. Thats why you need a BMS because there really is no way to tell
when the batteries are getting to 80% DOD and the bms should kick in
and shut them off to prevent damage.

Personally I would be using these
http://currentevtech.com/Lithium-Batteries/Headway/Headway-40160S-16ah-cell-LiFePO4-p42.html
if I was to go lipo.

i have been looking at single 12v 10a batteries (so called) free shipping
for $25.00 a piece (on average) so the price is pretty much double the
going rate (but then things like this are seen elsewhere on E-bay where they
ask

to be almost 1.5 pounds more than other batteries
