[TANKS] 24v to 36v
Hi guys, I am actually using 24v wheelchair motors in my tank and wonder if I can add one battery to run them on 36v. My ESC can handle 36v, and there is no such thing as to much power right? What do you think? Guy -- You are currently subscribed to the "R/C Tank Combat" group. Re: [TANKS] 24v to 36v
Some motors can handle being over-volted, some can't. If you can find a model number of the motor you can do a Google search to see if anyone has over-volted it. Otherwise, it may work or it may burn your motors out. If it works you will get more RPM's and more torque at less amp draw. Jacob says he wants a Chaffee, I said I wanted a Bulldog for my next tank. [TANKS] Re: Batteries???
Beware using the Sabertooth products. History has shown they will fail when used in tanks. Just ask the Brits. As for what batteries, Get 2 of what ever size (amp hours) will fit within your tank and/or wieght limit. Sealed Lead Batteries are most commonly used. I will be using a pair of 12v 26ah to run my 24v 350w motors. -- You are currently subscribed to the "R/C Tank Combat" group. RE: [TANKS] 24v to 36v
Speaking of motors, I came across these recently. They might be good for a small, lighter vehicle. http://www.goldmine-elec-products.com/prodinfo.asp?number=G17806 - Doug -- You are currently subscribed to the "R/C Tank Combat" group.
