Re: [TANKS] 12 volt dimmer /motor control as speed control?
I have a number of victor 883 Motor speed controls I would be happy to sell... It doesn't get much easier than 4 wires and a signal line from the radio. I was going to say the "cheap" solution almost never is... but that linked PWM motor control was over $200... In all honesty... its much easier and cheaper to build large scale RC car (tank) today than it was even 5 years ago. The prices for hardware have fallen by 5 fold (10 fold on some cases, like a radio) Battery technology is getting better and cheaper, and even fractional horsepower motors are much easier to get from known sources instead of surplus. I also have a small fab shop and would be happy to help people by making simple parts or modifications to existing parts (like boring out sprockets, making keyd shafts, etc) Chewy www.ttro.net On Mon, 2/2/15, Scott Ferron wrote: Subject: Re: [TANKS] 12 volt dimmer /motor control as speed control? Re: [TANKS] 12 volt dimmer /motor control as speed control?
Yes, that could be used to control the speed of one or two motors by connecting a servo to the rotary dial using a suitable linkage or gear. You could then provide forward/reverse direction control using a simple pair of relays per motor.
