HI Tom, yes the six wheels are powered, one motor for the 3 wheels on the

motor for the 3 wheels on the left, it drive just like a tank, and as you
 seen in the video
it can spin on himself thanks to that tank drive. To image it, suppose
 the tank track is
just a chain, that bring the power to 3 wheels. that chain in this case is
 inside the tank
and the drive is a bit more complicated because I builded an independant
 suspension for
 all the six wheels.

While I can't give you a ruling, it's looks like a great little machine.
How do you steer it and are all the wheels powered? Tom

 the Recon with
my right hand, it get easily out of frame. With these 24v 300amp motors
 the vehicule
have more than enough power. If only summer was coming faster.

I have one PanzerIII T050, to battle if ever some battler spawn in my
 area, so was
originally thinking to build a KingTiger, but turn the lower hull as a 6
 wheeled Recon, just
for the fun of running it around. Cant wait for some forest ride in
 summer. I use the
same electronics than the PanzerIII, gotta use it at the price it come, and
 it work
to good to wait an ennemy tank. I plan to buy a new car soon, it will be
 choosed to
accomodate a tank in the back to increase my battling range.

I was wondering, as I fine tune this Recon. As its a 1/6 scale hull of
 KingTiger, but
on wheels, would it be possible that I battle with it if I install a
 rotating turret with
paintball gun on top of it? I build this vehicule with in mind the idea to
 replace the
turret for anything else ( ex: robot arm ) as a multipurpose RC mobile
 base. Simply said,
can we take liberty with our tank design? If not np, I can still use it as
 Recon and supply
 vehicule.

Point taken. Still, I wonder if such a transmission could handle a 40+

already it would be nice to see pics of how they are constructed. might
 save a few bucks.

2009-03-10 Thread George MacGillis
Or how about the Vex, So here is the break down of cost (Vex Radio $10.)
(Crystal kit A $2.81) (Signal Splitter $23.91)

Total $36.72 not counting shipping, and you still have money left over for
servos.

[TANKS] Re: Leaf Springs

2009-02-16 Thread George MacGillis
I'm the kind of guy that never throws away anything, so I stripped off
the rubber on the wipers and stacked them up. The tank that I'm planning on
will be around 100 lbs. so 8 wipers stacked isn't going to make it. just
can't hold the weight. So I'm going to look into Spring steel and build a
leaf spring.
