Good choice, with the 75 mm gun on it and real, pneumatic or semi-pneumatic
20 cm diam. wheels.

Keep it below 20 kgrs and should be able to run it very nicely with two 18
volt drills. Wheeled vehicles are much cheaper and less time consuming to
build and with a rotating turret they should battle fine . On the other hand
their steering system is harder to build, because they require delicate
parts and monster servos that you may damage if you hit a rock or anything
rigid. With a tank you have teh traction on tall grass but also the
illusion that you steer *simply* by switching off power to one of the
tracks

Nice! I like that it looks the part. Videos like that make me want
to build an AEC MkIII: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AEC_Armoured_Car

National Holiday here today and the Daimler was tested. The upper hull
and
turret are only painted with a Khaki primer. IT's kind of oversized for
a
1:6th, and I doubt she'll ever be armed with a 0.40 marker, really, but
the
test results are as follows: 12 Kgrs heavy, 25 cm diam. wheels, two 18 V
960 DeWalt drills, plenty of torque and speed about 20 kms/h. Note that
this
grass is kind of slippery and still traction is perfect. WIth the 1:6th
scale, 20 cm diam, wheels you'd have monster torque and the battling
speed
you need (though this can be adjusted on digital RCs).
Enjoy! The desert Rat blends nicely with the landscape.
