Anyway, as I did state in that message, autonomous fire control is hard enough that even with a thermal device like Joe had (which cost more money than the prize no doubt), any autonomous roboteer would still have a tough time collecting the prize. I still think that the autonomous robot builders are more talk than walk and that the prize money will be sitting in my bank account for quite some time. Well, Frank, here it is verbatim from your May 18 post: Autonomous fire-control (ie. rotate/elevate/trigger) is sufficiently difficult that I have no problem allowing you to operate the tracks manually. Of course, you might be laughed at by the "autonomous purists" that seem to dominate the robotic world ... but then again, they probably won't have the guts to take on the challenge anyway ;-) Better warm up that check-writing pen.
