[RE-wrenches] Outback Boards

2019-02-05 Thread drake . chamberlin
Hello Wrenches,

It is my understanding that old Outback VFX inverters can not have
only one board replaced, but need to have three changed.

WE HAVE AN INVERTER THAT IS FROM AROUND 2005 (SERIAL NUMBER VFX
008968). Can one board be replaced on this unit?

Thanks,

Drake

Hello All
Below is a link to an OutBack webinar concerning module level shutdown.
Date: Wednesday January 9, 2019
Time: 10:00 AM PST – 10:30 AM PST

http://www.outbackpower.com/resources/obt-training/webinars

Class Description:
As of January 1, 2019, 27 states have adopted the 2017 edition of the NEC and
with it Article 690.12(B)(2) addresses PV array safety, for firefighters.
California’s adoption starts in 2020. The biggest change in the 2017 edition is
the requirement for inside the array rapid shut down. For many installers, the
most effective way to meet the requirement is with a module-level device to
limit voltage of conductors to less than 80V, 30 seconds after shutdown
initiation. In this webinar, we will discuss solutions that meet this
requirement that work with OutBack Power products.
