So our big issue right now is whether or not LG Chem honors their warranty
on the recall or do they file bankruptcy and leave the installers holding
the bag.

Jon,

If as announced, LG is pulling out of the US solar market, will they really
still be releasing new storage products here?

Hey wrenches,

I'm sure I'm not the only one. Has anyone found an alternative to the LG Chem
RESU10 for the Solaredge Storedge inverter? LG keeps pushing back their RMA
replacement time first for Q3 of 2021 and now fingers crossed Q2 of 2022. I
can't seem to source the Solaredge battery. Are there any Chinese manufacturers
that work? I was told by my supplier that the new LG Prime 16 will probably be
available in June but most likely later than that. Any info would be great!

Re: [RE-wrenches] Solar Panel Sealant

2022-03-09 Thread August Goers
Geocell's multiple part numbers have always confused me about what is the
most appropriate choice. That is the nice thing with M-1, it works on most
surfaces per the data sheet.

That said, I know at least one of the large nation-wide installers is using
Geocell 2300 on comp shingle roofs currently.

We’ve been using ChemLink M-1 for at least 10 years now, I have not seen
any signs of issues:

https://chemlink.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/M-1-1072021.pdf

We’ve been training our crews to use isopropyl alcohol to clean surfaces
including metal flashings to clean off any residual oil that might be left
after manufacturing, just to assure strong adhesion.

Geocell 2300 is another classic:

Chemlink M1. Comes in many colors. Sticks to anything, even when wet.

It's used for their flat roof sealant pockets, too. It's a tenacious
