Re: [RE-wrenches] Ballasted Roof Racking Recommendations?
There is a similar balasted rack from a company called Ecolibrium. http://www.triplepundit.com/2012/07/ecolibrium-solar-cutting-edge-simplicity-pv-solar-installation/. The fly in the ointment is that if the roof is not totally flat, the modules flex along the rows to make up the difference. The company representative seems to think that this is just fine. What do you think? Re: [RE-wrenches] Ballasted Roof Racking Recommendations?
Sunpower has just that. Very easy install, no grounding issues, super high efficiency. Downsides: expensive, Plastic, finicky layouts from their engineers that preclude using it on smaller roofs. I would use it again for a larger roof that needed to max out the output/ sq ft of roof. It's probably the best commercially available module in the world, definitely the most efficient. Last I checked it qualified as American made, though some of it is made in indonesia I believe.
