Re: [RE-wrenches] Fall Protection Recommendations?
Guardian Fall Protection not only has great equipment but also sales support and training. They are newer than Sala but Guardian's equipment is as good and better. Their Tower Edge harness has a saddle which makes it super comfortable on steep roofs, and it is also removable which is ideal for lower slopes. Also check out their HitchClip. It is an excellent anchor for shingled, pitched roofs. http://www.guardianfall.com/performance-safety-products/anchor-points/reside ntial-anchor-points/hitchclip Garrison Riegel Project Manager | <http://www.solarserviceinc.com/> Solar Service Inc [p] 847-677-0950 | <mailto:garri...@solarserviceinc.com> garri...@solarserviceinc.com NABCEP Certified PV Installation ProfessionalT From: RE-wrenches [mailto:re-wrenches-boun...@lists.re-wrenches.org] On Behalf Of William Dorsett Sent: Sunday, October 05, 2014 11:34 AM To: 'RE-wrenches' Subject: [RE-wrenches] Fall Protection Recommendations? Re: [RE-wrenches] Fall Protection Recommendations?
I certainly do. We use DBI-Sala safety equipment despite the POOR sales rep and my local supplier, the equipment is first rate. When one is selecting devices for LIFE SAVING WORK safety at the cost of ~2K for 2 persons, I would have thought their rep would have been more attentive. We even called him and asked for to bring the type of harness we were interested in but it seemed he was more interested in his smart phone, NOT Salas liability for wrong harnesses or incorrect fit. We use harnesses that have front and rear d rings, retractable 9' lanyards + the horizontal life line that makes working with another person quite easy. The life line we use is rated for no more then 2 persons but they do have other ones available. The harness have very easy adjustment that are lockable w/ w/o shoulder padding., good fit & light weight. The biggest problem we had was again the LACK (or willingness to educate) of knowledgable sales reps! Once you place the order you're stuck w/ what you get. This is why I was/am so hesitant to recommend this company NOT the quality, but the lack interest of their NE sales rep in regards to selling us the right gear, and the fitting & training Additional info please feel free to contact me off list, I do get pissed at the lack of their support so I have spent quite a bit of time researching this stuff.
