Re: [RE-wrenches] Honda EU7000is remote starting.

2021-05-16 Thread Nick A Lucchese
I always tried to avoid doing the conversions myself with the Atkinsons
products but have had great success with the kits from Genconnex.direct.net for
awhile now. I never get involved with generator sales but pretty sure they just
went up by about $600 from the time my customer purchased one just a few months
ago.

They come completely converted to propane and auto start with the GSCM mini and
extremely easy to integrate with most of the inverters we all use. Recently had
issues with the EU7000 unit not quite starting after a few cranks since the
Mini version waited too long in between cycles then after being unsuccessful a
few times we’d have to reset the Mini by pulling the controller’s power fuse
and then it would typically start on the second round of start signals.
Apparently an issue with the internal solenoid that’s installed by Genconnex
due to safety reasons for site’s lacking the proper shutoffs. Atkinsons was
great to work with and replaced it with the NEGC version that just goes with a
10 second delay in between attempts versus 40.

Wasn’t aware of the Generator Line of products. Thanks for that Michael!

2021-05-15 Thread jay
I have used this product and I agree that its easy and works well.

However, on the 3 propane honda 7kEU units i’ve installed them on, they all
have the same issue, they don’t work when its cold, say 30-45F. The generator
won’t start on the first and only try that the unit below will do. And the OB
only does 1 attempt. I’ve had to install some added timers so that it will do
2 start attempts, with it usually starting on the second attempt.

Maybe others have found some other technique how to get them to start on the
first try.

So much better than Atkinson. Simple, no power drain on the battery, doesn’t
need to be reset like the Atkins if the generator fails to start, and not
glitchy. Just two relays to mimic manual starting procedure and factory
