Re: [RE-wrenches] Inverter bypass

2023-03-03 Thread Wallace Stahle via RE-wrenches
I have found this Electricenter accessory part # ECSBPK01. to be very useful
with locally available load centers. labelled for Siemens and Murray. Fits
well on Eaton tho not listed for that brand.

Available locally for $32 or so lately.
Does the same thing the Generac sub panel does for the price of the interlock
only.

For an image try:

You can also build them with the interlock kits for (almost) whatever load
center you like. https://interlockkit.com/shop/
Some of these are UL listed, some are not.

The disadvantage of this route is that they are typically made for a high
ampacity main circuit breaker, probably overkill for most applications like
this.

I probably still have one of the old QO boxes on the shelf, but I never
liked them.  Single pole, very tight, and you had to double lug or use a
weird split bolt arrangement with exposed copper out past the breaker.

I started using these 60A T switches from Northern:

https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200653609_200653609

Midnite makes small 30A and 60A T switches as well:

Kris, It was SqD QO403, and it was a 3-pole load center/disconnect, not
4-pole. You may recall that the dual-inverter Trace Power Panels of long
ago used two of these, each one serving as an inverter bypass switch to
one 120V AC leg.
