No the FXRs require a Mate3(s) for programming.

It depends, you can use a single FXR or paralleled inverters (120) with a HUB

but you cannot Series Stack (120/240) or 3phase stack (120/208) with a Hub 4

Todd,

So is it that the control board and FET board are voltage specific,
control board also grid tie or off grid specific, AC board common to all and
Transformer common to all? I was unsure about the transformer as I have found

Changing 2 of the 3 cards would make this into a 48 volt inverter. The same

It appears to me that everyone miss read your question. If your customer
does not need a generator, then his solar charge controller needs to be able to
be set up for the lithium battery voltage settings. So the inverter simply

use any 48 volt inverter and use the MATE. The inverter would only provide LBCO

If the issue is high quality lithium batteries, I’d recommend
Rolls/discover

https://rollsbattery.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/S24-2800LFP.pdf

They make a 24v version that will work just fine with a fx inverter.

batteries in an existing off grid 48 vdc System. In my opinion you really do
need a mate 3S the Mate3 will work but there is potential for self-destruction.
You definitely cannot use an older hub. it Has to be a 10.3 with the FXR series
of inverters.
Please contact me off list for more info. I replaced the 10-year-old FX ‘s at
this site with FXR’s and they are available. they are 3648’s.

[RE-wrenches] Outback VFX upgrade question

2020-03-07 Thread Sindelar Solar

Wrenches,

I have a client who is looking at upgrading an older off grid system
that has an Outback VFX3524 inverter to 48V_nom in order to use a Blue
Ion LiFePo battery. I installed the VFX about ten years ago and it has
worked without any issues. The client has never had a generator and has
enough array to equalize his FLA batteries with array only, so has never
had or needed a Mate. If I upgrade to 48V with a new inverter, it will
most likely be an FXR3048. First question: Can I use an original Mate
(rather than a Mate3) to set up basic programming with a R series
inverter, such as charger and LBCO settings? Second: anyone have an
older FX3048 or VFX3648 for sale, if the answer to the first question is no?

Thank you,

Allan
