Hello Lones here.
When an ac source is accepted by the inverter. The rely connects the ac input
directly to the ac output. The relay is (should be) protected by a 50 amp
breaker
If there is an ac load of 8KW or 33 ac amps the remaining current is available
to be used by the inverter for battery charging. If the load increases above 8k
charging is reduced to honor the loads first. If the loads chew up all 50 amps
charging will be reduced to zero. Above 50 and the breaker should trip or
damage to the relay may result.
It is possible to use Support Mode. This sets a limit on the amount of current
passing through from the source to the loads. Any amount above the set point
will be supplied from the batteries. If the ac input current is set to 25 ac
amps. Any load above the 25 amps will come from the batteries. Sustained loads
above this adjustable set point could possibly deplete the batteries. If the
load drops below the 25amp charging will resume.
It is possible have an ac source and deplete the batteries.
Loads first Charging 2nd.
I hope this helps.
Take Care All

You are missing the charging of the battery! That is where (your numbers) the
12KW - 8KW can go!
