[RE-wrenches] SW 4024
I'm looking for a used, and still working properly, Trace/Xantrex SW 4024 with 120V/60 hZ output. Please contact me off-list if you have a lead or two for me. Re: [RE-wrenches] SW 4024 now grid tie
There is no reason that the two inverters need to work as a team. We have a system in operation since 2002 with a SW4048 and an SW5548 and 4200W of PV in a GTWB setup. Both have SWGTIs. The two inverters are not stacked, as they support different subpanels and load profiles and there are no 240V loads. The 4048 is set to sell, the 5548 only to float. The 4048 can charge and EQ from the grid at 30A AC, the 5548 is limited to 5A grid input. The 4048 is the workhorse, both buying and selling, and the 5548 primarily runs house loads. Works like a charm, and the two inverters don’t fight each other. I have tried adjusting the float setting and that also works particularly for an inverter that is out of DC calibration. They still get out of wack at times at different temperatures because the slope of the temp comp probes are usually not the same. This should keep both machines selling as evenly as they can and limit each machine to a maximum of half the AC Watts output. The one amp MAX charge amps keeps one unit from charging while the other one sells. Try it and see how you like it. Hey all, I have a client who was off grid and is now grid tied and has [2] Trace SW 4024 Inverters. We have three of the Xantrex/Trace GTI units, with one still-in-the- box-new from applications that got modified. They're collecting dust on the shelf... I'd be more than happy to send them to a new home and free up space. William Korthof Energy Efficiency Solar/ Acro (714) 875-3576 1.
