Re: [realXtend] tundra 1.08 viewer or server show black screen

2011-08-27 Thread Antti Ilomäki
Do you happen to have wacom devices or touchscreens installed? We've
had some issues with black screens in connection with such hardware.
If this is indeed the case perhaps you can help us track down the
issue. In any case, hopefully someone can help you get started with
your project.

 Hi, my name is Chatpakorn

 I use windows 7 64 bit.

I am a really new for this 3d virtualworld.
my background is 3d art. and I am interesting to try to upload some
model on realxtend on my desktop ... with out upload on the web.

I just download tundra 1.08 and it include viewer and server.
when I try to run it (viewer or server)
it show  tundra windows with black screen... nothing on it .

try to open some scene file from scene folder
I can see some things load up in scene structure ... but still have
 nothing on screen (still black)

is it possible that I can check this viewer is working on my machine??
maybe some example world? or template world??

or did I missing something to install?

I apologise for this kind of stupid question, but I try to read around
webpage for a few days and I still cant work it out due to lack of my
 knowledge.

my Idea, just want to try to upload my object on the virtual world ..

Great to hear! A weird problem that we must track down.

so how can I start from now ?

As your interest in the first post was just to see your models there, I
would start from that.

The simplest way to test that is to just run server.exe, and then
dragdrop your models to the main window. They need to be in Ogre .mesh
format, for which you need an exporter for your modelling app. Collada
support has been made too, but was not in previous release yet (is
coming now).

The installer comes with a set of example scenes, you can open them just
by selecting them in the windows start menu, or doubleclicking on the
files in the scenes folder inside your Tundra installation. For example
the physics one -- this video by Antti shows how those should look like:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wg6SAQPW-9k . You can test dragdrop of
these .mesh files before you create your own.

We really need a manual more tutorials etc, this is the little basic
instructions that we have so far:
http://wiki.realxtend.org/index.php/Getting_Started_with_Tundra#Usage_instructions
and there are a few articles on the main website which explain more complex
things like configuring servers for on-line hosting etc.

A simple (experimental) way to create a project on local server is:
1. File menu: 'New Scene' - d:\myprojectdir\myscene.txml
2. dragdrop meshes to the scene - they are now automatically copied to
d:\myprojectdir
3. File - Save (to save the currently open document)

Then you can close Tundra, and later just open your txml again.
