Re: [realXtend] Evocativi runs realXtend on a MeeGo Mobile phone

2010-08-20 Thread Jani Pirkola
I got some screenshots from Evocativi, but the ones from the Aava device
were a bit crappy because they were not direct screen captures, but taken
with a digital camera in a poor lighting.
Don't take me wrong, the contents of the pictures were great... I will
publish some pictures next week when I have the demo on my own Aava device.

Re: [realXtend] Evocativi runs realXtend on a MeeGo Mobile phone

2010-08-20 Thread Jonne Nauha
Yes as I took them with my N900 I know the quality, I thought that was the
reason for them not being there. I was just ordered to take some pics and
thats what I did, also took the N900 shots for you the same time. MeeGo does
not have any software/functionality to take screenshots and probably wont
have in a very long time. So those are all you can get, of course getting a
better camera would do the trick.

You'll have to understand that MeeGo is in quite early dev phase. At least
for the apps like screen capture. The unix foundation is basically getting
there, but UI and app wise its quite useless. Keeping that in mind it was a
nice feeling to get Naali to run on it :) So there is a lot of potential
even if the platform is not release ready yet.

So we can arrange to install this on your device next week, you can ask
Tommi or me directly. I will have more time after the demo stuff,
so probably earliest wednesday.

You mean that vnc doesn't work either? Surely that works with a
linux-based phone? You could use that to create high-quality screenshots.

Hi Jonne

A few questions about the release. When do you think a release will be to
expect ?
Will megaregions be supported too and also the WIFI from Diva for simple
administration tasks ?

cheers and realXtend rocks :-)

When I first read the post I thought - Wow someone discovered that a
mobile phone and run a terminal client and see the screen from a
server that is actually running the Virtual World client.
I'm glad to see that it's native running on the device itself.
