I expect the problem is related to your hardware.  There is a known bug
associated with previous versions of RH7.x that has to do with Cable select
settings for cdroms.  This is a jumper setting on the cdrom itself.  If your
cdrom is using cable select change this to the manual setting of master or
slave whichever is appropriate.  This bug created random read errors on the
cds for install.  If you have a web, ftp, or nfs server you could opt for a
network based install which will avoid the problem.

When I try to install skipjack, I get an error about a missing 
package or bad file. it is a different package listed each time
and can be on either the first or second install disk.

Also, when checking disks, if I put in disk 2 to be checked first 
and then put in disk 1 and continue, the install fails with a 
screen for of garbage...
