RE: RedHat 9 and Hyperthread CPUs
Hi, I cannot get hyperthread to work on a new kernel. RH9 installs fine and, using the 2.4.20-8smp kernel, hyperthread worked. I can see the 2 cpus in /proc/cpuinfo. However, after compiling a new kernel, v2.4.22, with SMP support and for P4 CPU, only 1 cpu is found in /proc/cpuinfo. Do you know what I have missed? The hardware is Intel S875WP-1 motherboard. HT is enabled on it. CPU is a P4-2.4c 800MHz front side bus with HT support. You help is much appreciated. Problem with SATA disk on Intel D865GBFL M/B
Hi Guys, Do you know how to connect a Seagate SATA disk to an Intel D865GBFL motherboard under RH9? When installing RH9 with the SATA disk only, RH9 reported no hard disk. Removing and re-installing linuxconf will only give me the first info screen, then core dumped again. Do you know how to fix this? Here are the details: cpu PPro 200 memory 64MB linuxconf linuxconf-1.16r3.2-2.i386.rpm initscripts-4.68-1.i386.rpm Regards, Clement -- To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.

6.1 Problems
Please give me a hand. On 6.1, when I install ssh-1.2.26, I get an error --- missiong libz.so. Do you know which package contains that? I used the "server" installation. I know ssh-1.2.27 is out but forget which site has it. Can you tell me? The IP alias does not work. Apparently it is this script that is not working. /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifup-aliases Do you know if there is an update somewhere? Do you know how to install the ORB removable E-IDE drive? Thank you very much. Regards, Clement -- To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.
XNTP3 problem
Hi everyone, I have a problem in using xntp3 daemon v3-5.93. The daemon updates the clock accurately. But when it serves time to other clients, some, mostly Linux, would work. Others, like Dimension 4 would report "The NTP message received is invalid! ..." Can you give me a hand? Regards Clement -- To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.
